5 Decorating Tips for Any Season
By Gigi, Vendor at The Plow Antique Mall
Hey friends — I’m Gigi, one of the 130+ vendors at The Plow Antique Mall in Rock Hill, SC. My booth is filled with French cottage–style pieces, cozy home accents, and treasures that bring a little warmth into everyday spaces. Over the years, I’ve learned that decorating beautifully doesn’t have to be complicated. Here are a few simple ways to make your home feel inviting in every season.
1. Mix the Old with the New
A home feels more personal when it’s a mix of styles and stories. Pair a vintage table with modern dishes, or hang an old mirror above a newer console. The charm comes from the balance — it’s not about perfection, it’s about feeling collected.

2. Layer Texture, Not Clutter
The secret to a cozy home isn’t more stuff — it’s thoughtful layering. Worn wood, linen, metal, and greenery all add warmth. I love finding those textural pieces at The Plow — baskets, pottery, or soft fabrics that make a space feel relaxed and lived in.
3. Bring the Outdoors In
Each season brings its own beauty. I always keep a few vintage vases or crocks on hand to fill with branches, flowers, or dried stems. It’s a simple way to celebrate the time of year and make your home feel fresh without overhauling everything.
4. Choose with Intention
Buy what you love — not just what fills a space. I always tell customers to wait for pieces that speak to them. A home filled slowly with meaningful finds has a warmth that can’t be rushed. That’s the joy of antique shopping — every piece has a story.
5. Create Spaces That Invite You In
Your home should invite you to slow down. A cozy chair near a window, a soft lamp glow, and a good book can make any corner your favorite place. I find so much inspiration walking through The Plow — every booth has something special that reminds me how beautiful simplicity can be.
